In an extraordinarily brazen assault, three Arabs armed with guns and knives attacked and killed Israeli police officers at Jerusalem’s holiest site for Jews and Muslims, which is an emotional and volatile focal point of the Israeli-Arab conflict which can reverberate throughout the Middle-East.
Security camera footage showed the armed assailants emerging within the sacred compound in the Old City of Jerusalem that Jews revere as the Temple Mount and Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary. After they attacked Israeli police killing two, police officers pursued the assailants inside the compound and exchanged fire; all three assailants were killed.
