German military officials are finding Nazi material displayed at army barracks after launching an investigation into a German soldier who planned a terrorist attack to bolster his far-right cause.
Investigators found Nazi memorabilia of the German army in Hitler’s era openly displayed in a barracks common room, and at other barracks found Nazi-era helmets arranged in a display cabinet and pictures of current soldiers wearing Nazi military decorations and helmets while gripping Nazi pistols.
There have been signs of Hitlerism and Nazism returning to Germany especially since Germany and the rest of Europe have seen a surge in far-right thinking as an immigration crisis raises fears of cultural upheaval.
