North Korea has successfully launched an intercontinental ballistic missile culminating a decades-long ambition with experts saying it was powerful enough to reach Alaska.
The missile launch came near the July 4th Independence Day celebrations in the United States which North Korea has a history of previously launching missiles around significant dates and events.
The missile launch comes as the Trump administration has displayed increasing frustration with China’s reluctance to put more pressure on North Korea.
And citing anonymous administration officials, it was reported that President Trump has told the Chinese leader that the US was now ready to act on its own against North Korea.
