Nuclear Powers Of India & Pakistan Launch Airstrikes In Deepening Conflict

Signs of the Last Days® MinistryNews

Tensions between nuclear powers India and Pakistan escalated this week after each country carried out airstrikes against the other, prompting concerns about a potential outbreak of war that could escalate.

India’s airstrike against Pakistan came after a terrorist group there claimed responsibility for an attack in India-controlled Kashmir that killed more than 40 security officers. The suicide car bombing prompted a barrage of international criticism toward Pakistan for failing to crack down on terror groups operating on its soil.

Then India’s air force conducted strikes against a militant camp in Pakistani territory. That attack killed a “very large number” of terrorists, trainers and senior commanders belonging to the Jaish-e-Mohammed, according to New Delhi.

But then Pakistan said its air force carried out strikes along the so-called Line of Control between it and India to demonstrate its “right, will and capability for self defence.” The Line of Control is the de facto border between the India and Pakistan.

Afterwards, according to a spokesman for the Pakistan armed forces, Indian planes entered Pakistani airspace and two jets were shot down. One of the aircraft fell on India’s side of Kashmir, while the second came down in Pakistani-held territory, and its pilot was captured. India is demanding the pilots immediate release.

The leader of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the leader of Pakistan, Prime Minister Imran Khan, are both under significant pressure from within their countries.

India’s Modi has been under pressure from internal political bases to use force with Pakistan in response to terrorist acts ahead of upcoming parliamentary elections. While Pakistan’s Khan is newly elected having little sway with the country’s influential military.

Both prime ministers are thought to be under significant pressure not to be seen as backing away or being weak. For Modi it would be political suicide if he walked back the conflict, and for the new leader Khan he must show he is strong to the military and willing to stand up to India.

And of concern is that both countries have nuclear weapons with each having approximately 130 to 140 nuclear warheads.

In an address to the nation, Mr Khan warned of the dangers posed to both nations if the violence continues. Mr Khan said: “History tells us that wars are full of miscalculation. My question is that given the weapons we have can we afford miscalculation.“

Then the Pakistani leader called for a sense of “wisdom” to de-escalate the dispute with its nuclear-armed neighbor saying Pakistan and India should “sit down and talk” in order to avoid further escalations.

The Last Days prophecies of the Holy Bible foretell that rumors of wars and devastating wars are a sign of the Last Days at the end of this age near the coming of Lord Jesus.
