NY City Official Says Gov. Cuomo’s Words Are Blasphemous & To Trust In God

Signs of the Last Days® MinistryNews

At a press conference, New York Governor Cuomo made statements that the number of coronavirus cases appeared to be plateauing in New York because of people’s efforts and that faith in God had nothing to do with it.

Cuomo said, “The number is down, because we brought the number down,” he said. “God did not do that. Faith did not do that. Destiny did not do that. A lot of pain and suffering did that…”

Cuomo likened the achievement of positive results to being on a diet and diligently exercising and watching what you eat.

But New York City Councilman, Rev. Ruben Diaz, Sr., was one of many New Yorkers who were upset at the remark as a slight to their faith.

Diaz said, “… we must not tolerate Governor Cuomo’s blasphemy, we must thank our God for the relief of any suffering. We must not desecrate the name of God and deny the truth of God’s mercy.”

“We must live in thanks to the Lord for all good things. Taking glory for ourselves would be blasphemous.”

Diaz went on to describe that, despite churches and houses of worship being closed due to the pandemic, people of faith are faithfully crying out to God for intervention.

“We must continue to pray for the end of this suffering, and for strength and peace for those who have lost their loved ones,” he said.

“Despite the fact that Governor Andrew Cuomo’s words make it clear that he does not believe in the power of prayer, we will continue to pray for God’s tender mercy.”

The Biblical prophecies (Matthew 24) describe that pestilence will be a sign indicating the beginning of the end of this age of grace that it called the “beginning of sorrows.”

These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).

The prophecy has come true, the perilous times are here. The need is greater than ever before.
