Political Rhetoric Not Heard Since Hitler Making World More Dangerous

An annual report by Amnesty International warns that poisonous political rhetoric such as not heard since Hitler is making the world a more dangerous place.

Singling out populist and nationalistic leaders statements from countries such as Hungary, Turkey, United States and the Philippines, it said these are leading to fear mongering with increasing levels of hate and fear not seen since the 1930s, when Adolf Hitler rose to power.

It cited incidents as the rhetoric of the U.S. election campaign, European leaders’ assault on the rights of refugees, President of Turkey’s massive crackdown, and the violent campaign on the so-called war on drugs in the Philippines, as examples how a poisonous political rhetoric of ‘us versus them’ has surged across the world.
