And many of these people were not being counted in the official death toll, meaning the real disaster death toll is higher.

The doctors there after the disaster in Puerto Rico said the reality was post-apocalyptic.
Medical staff were operating in the dark since there was no electricity. No x-rays or ct-scans. Medications melted. Surgical procedures were conducted in sweltering heat. And bodies were burned.
Doctors there were practicing disaster medicine in real life. One doctor said “the reality here is post-apocalyptic,” and he went on to say, “you can’t understand the seriousness of it unless you see it.”
