Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that allowing Ukraine to join NATO would increase the prospects of a Russia-NATO conflict that could turn nuclear.
Putin’s assertion, made in the context of a question about a Ukrainian attempt to take Crimea back from Russia, had came during a joint press conference with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
Putin made it clear that there were some lines that could not be crossed without severe and possibly even nuclear consequences.
“There will be no winners,” Putin said, describing a scenario in which Ukraine had joined NATO, “and you will find yourself drawn into this conflict against your will. You will be fulfilling Article 5 in a heartbeat, even before you know it.”
Article 5 of NATO’s founding treaty says that any attack on a NATO member is an attack on all members. This principle of collective defense, NATO says, is at the heart of its treaty.
And now the country of Ukraine is filing an expedited “fast-track” application to join NATO. While Ukraine is also pressing attacks on Russian forces in Crimea and in four Ukrainian regions that Putin has annexed.
For which Putin has vowed to use “all the power and all the means” at his disposal to defend them. And Putin has said he could use nuclear weapons to defend Russian territory.
The Biblical prophecies (Ezekiel 38, Ezekiel 39) foretell that Magog Russia will take military action that ultimately affects Israel and the nations in the Last Days signaling we are nearing the end of this age and the coming of Jesus Christ.
These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
