Reuters reports that the phenomenon of earthquake lightning was seen in today’s Acapulco beach resort earthquake.
It was a powerful 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck southwestern Mexico near Acapulco.
And the report says that a rare display of lightning also accompanied the quake adding a sense of doom as startled residents rushed into the streets.
Twitter users posted dozens of videos of the phenomenon, prompting a trend under the tag Apocalipsis, which is Spanish for Apocalypse, the term used to denote the Biblical end of the age.
In footage from Acapulco, the flashes start shortly after the ground starts shaking, illuminating previously darkened hills behind the ocean bay and at one point appearing to bathe buildings on the shoreline in bright light.
And in Mexico City, panicked residents tried to keep their balance outside an apartment building while the sky flashed blue, white and pink.
Strange lights with earthquakes have been reported during earthquakes around the world with individual reports of unusual lighting near the time and epicenter of an earthquake.
But there is little scientific consensus on what causes the luminosity. And theories for what researchers call Earthquake Lights (EQL), includes friction between moving rocks creating electrical activity.
The Biblical prophecies of Revelation (Revelation 8:5, Revelation 11:19, Revelation 16:18) foretell that there will be earthquakes accompanied by lightning and thunder with noise in the prophetic Last Days signaling the world is nearing the end of this age and the coming of Jesus Christ.
These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
