A rare and powerful earthquake has struck Morocco sending people racing into the streets at night as buildings were toppled and homes destroyed.
So far more than 2,000 people were found killed but the death toll is expected to rise as rescuers struggled to reach people in hard-hit areas.
The magnitude-6.8 earthquake is the biggest to hit the North African country of Morocco in 120 years. Which sent people fleeing their homes in terror and disbelief from the worst earthquake there in over a century.
People were knocked off their feet as they fled and then stayed in the open streets as the quake brought down walls and covered whole communities with rubble.
People could be seen on state TV clustering in the streets, afraid to go back inside buildings still standing for fear they could still be unstable.
Homes were seen folded in on themselves amidst the devastation and adults were seen crying as boys and helmet-clad police carried the dead through the streets.
Many towns were largely cut off from the world when they lost electricity and cellphone service. By midday, people were outside mourning neighbors, surveying the damage on their camera phones and telling one another “May God save us.”
The earthquake was also felt as far away as Portugal and Algeria, according to the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere and Algeria’s Civil Defense agency.
In a sign of the huge scale of the disaster, Morocco’s King Mohammed VI ordered their armed forces to put in place a surgical field hospital and to form search and rescue teams.

These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3:3-5) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
