The mosque in a London area previously known as a hotbed of Islamic extremism was now itself the scene of a terror attack when a van plowed into a group of Muslim worshipers with the driver shouting he wanted to kill Muslims.

It was at the Finsbury Park Mosque — infamous for housing the radical Egyptian cleric known as Abu Hamza al-Masri, who was later extradited to the United States and found guilty of terrorism charges.

A man identified as a 47-year-old Welshman from Cardiff who was not on any security watch-lists was allegedly behind the wheel. Witnesses said the driver was heard shouting after he was wrestled to the ground that he wanted to kill Muslims.

The terrorist attack left one dead and injured 10 others.
