Religious Groups Tax-Exempt Status Revoked If Oppose Same Sex Marriage Says Democrat Presidential Candidate

Beto O’Rourke, the former El Paso Texas congressman who is a Democrat presidential candidate, said during a CNN town hall devoted to LGBTQ issues that he would revoke the tax exempt status of churches that oppose same-sex marriage.

CNN’s Don Lemmon framed the question saying: “Do you think religious institutions like colleges, churches, charities – should they lose their tax exempt status if they oppose same-sex marriage?”

“Yes,” O’Rourke said without hesitation, drawing applause from the Los Angeles audience.

O’Rourke went on to say, “There can be no reward, no benefit, no tax break for anyone, or any institution, any organization in America that denies the full human rights and the full civil rights of every single one of us.”

He then added, “So as president we’re going to make that a priority and we are going to stop those who are infringing on the rights of our fellow Americans.”

Previously in the Texas Senate race, the defense of florists, bakeries and wedding chapels that refused service to same-sex couples animated the 2016 election, with Senator Ted Cruz tapping into concerns of assaults on religious freedom.

Ahead of the 2020 presidential election, a mirror-image debate has emerged with Democratic contenders striving to tell voters that they would be a champion of LGBTQ issues.

O’Rourke’s stance on tax exempt status has brought accusations from conservatives that in his drive for tolerance, he is trying to punish religious groups that disagree with him.

The Biblical prophecies (Matthew 24, Luke 21) of Jesus Christ foretell that in the Last Days there will be hatred and persecution for those that follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and His Apostles in the Bible.

These events and conditions happening now are signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).

Preparing those Biblically born again into the Kingdom of God to be ready to escape all the things that will come to pass, in the wrath of the tribulation of Revelation prophecy, that comes upon the world of disobedience. As the born again Church is not appointed unto wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10) but instead to salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.
