Russia & Iran issued a joint statement condemning the recent U.S. missile strike on a Syrian airbase saying the U.S. crossed red lines and threatened the U.S. they would respond to any further aggression.

The statement said, “The aggression against Syria oversteps all red lines. We will react firmly to any aggression against Syria and to any infringement of red lines, whoever carries them out.”

Putin considers the US strike as an “aggression against a sovereign state in violation of international norms,” according to Russian agencies. Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani by phone during which they said that the US strike was a violation of international law.

Also, because they view the U.S. missile strike against Syrian government forces as an attack on its ally, Russia said it was suspending an agreement with the U.S. to minimize the risk of in-flight incidents between U.S. and Russian aircraft operating over Syria. Under this pact, the two countries had an open communications line between them sharing information about their flights.

With freezing this communication, the skies over Syria are much more risky now for U.S. military aircraft due to Russian fighter jets in the air and sophisticated anti-aircraft systems on the ground in Syria.

The potential for an incident resulting in an international crisis between the global powers has now escalated. And if this happens it could then morph the conflict to where it is no longer a regional proxy war.

It could then become a series of events of direct conflict between world powers that grows with tit-for-tat escalation until eventually widening into the Middle-East World War described in the Biblical Prophecy of Revelation 9.
