Russia has sent Syria the largest shipment of missiles between the two countries to date, with this latest delivery having potential to further change the stakes in the Middle East, say U.S. officials.
The shipment of 50 short-range ballistic missiles arrived at the Syrian port of Tartus along the Mediterranean Sea in the past two days, the officials said.
Russia has already fired short range and longer-range missiles recently into Syria’s Idlib province against “opposition” fighters, according to those officials.
