Russia has announced that it is closing the airspace near Crimea and the Black Sea at Ukraine saying the areas had been “declared temporarily dangerous for aircraft flights.”

As Russia is amassing the largest military force ever seen in the Black Sea Region at the borders of Ukraine with 150,000 troops as tensions are sky-high between Russia and Ukraine.

Also, the FAA in the US issued an aviation warning for Ukraine and Russia saying flight operators should exercise extreme caution within 100nm of the entire Russia-Ukraine border.

Saying the airspace on both sides could be exposed to potential weapons activity posing a risk to civil aircraft from misidentification or miscalculation.

The Maxar satellite imagery company has also released almost a dozen images that it said showed increased movements and an influx of Russian military hardware at numerous locations in Crimea and near Ukraine.

The Kremlin has shrugged off all calls to withdraw the troops and hardware with a Kremlin spokesman saying that Moscow was not responsible for the soaring tensions.

And called on other countries to refrain from “mass anti-Russian psychosis.”

Meanwhile the US has turned back warships that were heading to the Black Sea amid White House fears of escalating tensions with Russia.

And it was reported the US ambassador to Russia plans to travel back to Washington after being told by Russia’s Foreign Ministry to do so amid the diplomatic crisis between the two countries.
