20 were killed, many of them children, when 3 schools were bombed by Russian-Syrian warplanes in Syria.
The Syria Civil Defense, whose rescue workers are known as the White Helmets, said a complex containing three schools was targeted. Children were reportedly gathered around a school entrance when it was hit.
The Syria Civil Defense said initial reports were of more than 20 people being killed, while the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights put the death toll at 22, including 14 children and a teacher.
Syria’s conflict was sparked by a brutal act of the detention and torture of schoolchildren who had spray-painted anti-government graffiti. The civil war has continued to be savagely brutal on children as it descends into a demonic abyss of unparalleled turmoil and death.
