It’s reported the Linthipe River in Dedza, Africa, suddenly turned blood red shocking residents living along the river.

The river is the center of life in the village and the women were the first to notice the phenomenon when they came to do laundry one afternoon.

One woman told Malawi 24, the local news site, “As usual, we came to this place to wash our clothes besides drawing water for home use. But to our surprise we saw that blood like stuff was flowing in the river. This scared us and we called some people to witness the bizarre circumstances.”

Group Village Head Nthandizi of the area said the issue has shocked residents as they do not know the real reason for the change of color. But locals did not rule out divine intervention as the cause of the sudden change.

The Africa Times reported that police confirmed the incident to local journalists and said they were seeking help from local hospital staff to run tests.

Meanwhile, two communities in Dedza District avoided the water on which they rely, with some leaving the area in fear – even as others crowded in to catch a glimpse of the river.

As of yet people there don’t have an explanation.

For Bible believers the image of a blood-red river reminds of the plague the Lord God struck upon the Nile River that the Egyptians and Pharaoh worshiped as a god.

When Moses and Aaron struck the Egyptian River god in the Name of the Lord turning the river to blood,  reminding the great Egyptian empire and its Pharaoh that mankind is subservient to the Lord God.

And the Biblical prophecies foretell that such plagues will again come upon humankind in the Last Days of this age. The Revelation Prophecy foretells that water on the earth will again become as blood.
