The Syrian war is dangerously bleeding over into Israel when at first, two Syrian mortars landed in the Israeli Golan Heights leading to retaliation by the Israeli Air Force (IAF) hitting Syrian artillery targets.
But it continued, until there were a total of four Syrian mortars that landed in Israel and a total of three Israeli retaliations. One mortar fired from Syria landed in an open area on the Israeli side of the demilitarized zone. There were no injuries or damage reported, but later in the day, the IDF struck Syrian army artillery targets in retaliation.
Then the Israeli military said that Syrian forces had fired two surface-to-air missiles after Israeli aircraft targeted artillery positions in the Syrian Golan Heights.
This was a rare response to an Israeli air incursion and Israel categorically denied a claim by the Syrians that they had shot down an Israeli warplane and a drone.
The spillover into Israel of the fighting by the Syrian government against the rebels, which is supported by Russia and Iran, is a sign of events to come that can trigger prophecy fulfillment describing Russia and Iran taking action against Israel in the Golan Heights.
