President Trump continues to not concede the presidential race while also blocking Biden from any government briefing or funding.

Now after the election the President has also fired the head of the US military, while also elevating and installing officials at the Pentagon who are viewed as loyal to him.

Trump announced Secretary of Defense Esper was terminated by a tweet.

The announcement came about five months after Trump and Esper had a public break over the summer, with Esper refusing to support using the Insurrection Act and deploying US troops to handle civil unrest in America’s cities.

Now top Pentagon officials are being replaced with those who many say are viewed as Trump loyalists.

With the abrupt changes at the Pentagon immediately after the election, making people in government at Washington DC and at the Pentagon nervous about what Trump is intending.

Some top Pentagon positions that have changed hands so far are the Secretary of Defense, chief of staff, undersecretary for policy, and undersecretary of defense for intelligence and security.

Rep. Adam Smith, chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, said that it was hard to overstate just how dangerous high-level turnover at the Department of Defense is during a period of transition.

Also, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Army General Mark Milley, has reportedly clashed with those at the top in the Trump White House.

With Milley also reportedly angering Trump by disagreeing with him to his face about using active-duty military troops to quash protesters in US streets.

And Milley also publicly apologized for being seen with Trump during the president’s photo op in Lafayette Square at the St. John’s Episcopal Church. Saying it created a perception of the military involved in domestic politics.

At the moment, it remains to be seen what President Trump is planning with these high-level changes at the US military with some wondering whether the loyalists installed would be expected to help Trump resist leaving office.
