U.S. Grocery Stores Have Empty Shelves

Signs of the Last Days® MinistryNews

Grocery store shelves across America are empty, and they’re staying empty as stores struggle to restock everyday necessities such as milk, bread, meat, canned soups and cleaning products.

The food shortages being reported nationwide are widespread, also impacting produce and meat as well as packaged goods such as cereal.

While items are harder to find, many are also costing more with rising inflation. Where according to the Labor Department, the consumer price index jumped 7% last year, which was a four-decade high.

The food scarcity consumers are seeing on store shelves is in part due to trends triggered by the covid pandemic which never completely abated, and are now exacerbated by omicron.

According to the National Grocers Association, grocery stores are operating with less than their normal workforces, with many of its members having less than 50% of their normal workforce.

As they say the highly contagious variant of the Covid-19 virus is continuing to sicken workers, creating staffing shortages for critical functions like transportation and logistics, which in turn are affecting delivery of products and the restocking of store shelves across the country.

At the same time widespread domestic transportation issues have been triggered with the ongoing record-high level of congestion at the nation’s ports.

While there is also an ongoing shortage of truckers which continues to slow down the supply chain and the ability of grocery stores to receive product for replenishing their shelves.

Additionally, weather emergencies have impacted deliveries as much of the Midwest and Northeast have recently been grappling with severe weather and hazardous travel conditions.

Americans are also eating more at home than they used to, especially since many offices and some schools were closed, which heightened the demand for groceries.

According to a recent study, the majority at 71%, of grocery consumers said they are somewhat or very concerned about shortages or stock-outs of items at grocery stores.

The Biblical prophecies (Matthew 24, Luke 21, Revelation 6) foretell that there will be food scarcity in the Last Days signaling we are nearing the end of this age and the coming of Jesus Christ.

These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
