U.S. PLANNING ‘TACTICAL ASSAULT’ ON IRAN—U.N. OFFICIALS

The Jerusalem Post has reported diplomatic sources at the UN headquarters have revealed to the Maariv that they are assessing the United States’ plans to carry out a tactical assault on Iran in response to the ship attacks in the Persian Gulf.

According to officials, the White House has been holding incessant discussions involving senior military commanders, Pentagon representatives and advisers to President Trump.

The military action under consideration would be an aerial bombardment of an Iranian facility linked to its nuclear program, the officials further claimed.

“The bombing will be massive but will be limited to a specific target,” said a Western diplomat.

They said the decision to carry out military action against Iran was discussed in the White House before the latest report that Iran could increase the level of uranium enrichment.

The officials also noted that the United States plans to reinforce its military presence in the Middle East, and in the coming days will also send additional soldiers to the area.

The sources added that President Trump himself was not enthusiastic about a military move against Iran, but lost his patience on the matter and would grant Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who is pushing for action, what he wants.

In the current U.S. Administration, it has gotten to where one can track the location where US Secretary of State Pompeo is at, and what he is saying, so to know the thinking of the Administration on a subject, since Pompeo now appears to be Trump’s point person on affairs.

And today, Pompeo was scheduled to fly to U.S. Central Command headquarters in Tampa, Florida, to meet with U.S. military commanders overseeing American forces in the Middle East.

Pompeo is holding talks with Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, head of U.S. Central Command, who is responsible for forces deployed in the Middle East, and Gen. Richard Clarke, head of U.S. Special Operations Command.

US State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus said Pompeo was there to discuss Mideast security concerns and ongoing operations.

It was also just announced that the Pentagon said it has ordered another 1,000 American troops to the Middle East in response to the hostile attacks on commercial ships by Iran.

The forces are part of a broader military package that was previously laid out to U.S. leaders totaling as much as 10,000 forces, Patriot missile batteries, aircraft and ships.

This is happening as it was just reported that Iran is stockpiling uranium and plans to increase enrichment to nearly weapons-grade level necessary for a nuclear bomb.

Amid increasing brinkmanship with the United States, Iran announced its intention to exceed the uranium stockpile limit. And of greater concern, the Islamic Republic’s Atomic Energy Organization spokesman warned Iran could enrich uranium up to 20 percent — just a step below weapons-grade level for a nuclear bomb.

And as spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi spoke to journalists at Iran’s Arak heavy water facility, he acknowledged Iran has already quadrupled its production of low-enriched uranium.

US Secretary of State Pompeo has called Iran’s attacks as a blatant and unprovoked assault, and Pompeo said the U.S. holds Iran responsible for this dangerous aggression – a clear warning that the U.S. could make the Iranian government and military face consequences.

Fox news reported that a senior government official said that the identification of Iran as the culprit “was just the first step and there would be more to follow.” And now that there has been not one but a wave of attacks by Iran or its proxies in the Mideast region, we could well see a limited and specific action by the U.S. or its allies in the region against Iran.

And then came a report by CNN that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the United States is “considering a full range of options” regarding rising tensions with Iran, including military options.

And now the report by the Jerusalem Post that the United States’ has plans to carry out a tactical assault on Iran in response to the ship attacks in the Persian Gulf.

The Biblical prophecies of Jesus Christ (Matthew 24, Luke 21) foretell that wars and rumors of wars in the Mideast will be a sign of the Last Days indicating the coming end of the age and the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ.
