Sanctuary cities across the U.S. are rebelling against the president’s executive order and threat to withhold federal funding having reaffirmed their immigration policies. At one count there were 400 sanctuary cities and counties in the country, and recently 37 sanctuary cities said they are standing firm against President Donald Trump’s pledge to crack down on them.
They are known as sanctuary cities since they shelter illegal immigrants and do not permit enforcement of federal immigration laws. President Trump with an executive order wants an end to sanctuary cities since they shelter illegal immigrants.
Large protests are breaking out in major cities across the country over U.S. immigration and customs enforcement actions. Also, cities as New York, Chicago, and San Francisco are taking legal actions against the President and Federal Government.
