As the U.S. has risen over 200,000 coronavirus deaths and new cases keep rising, some US top health experts are warning that the country could be headed into dangerous territory in the fall.

Peter Hotez, the co-director of the Texas Children’s Hospital Center for Vaccine Development, said, “We may be in for a very apocalyptic fall, I’m sorry to say.”

Hotez described the current situation causing the set-up for this as being that states are forcing schools to reopen in areas of high transmission and colleges are also being forced to reopen.

And that there is not a national strategy telling people to wear masks and to social distance and do all the things that are needed to be done, while at the same time there is also a lot of disinformation being spread.

Jeanne Marrazzo, the director of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, also agreed with Hotez’s estimation that the coming months “could be apocalyptic.”

Marazzo described several reasons why the U.S. is experiencing a rise in new infections:

With one being general fatigue as people become tired dealing with the pandemic; And said that another reason is the completely contradictory messages people were getting on the virus, for example how it was spread.

Infectious diseases experts have been warning about a potential cold-weather surge of coronavirus cases that coincides with the flu season.

As the summer heat has not killed or slowed the virus, and facts show that cold helps it to spread as in the many severe cases in cold meat-packing plants.

Center for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield has said the country could be in for “the worst fall, from a public health perspective, we’ve ever had,” as the likelihood of a possible “twindemic” of the coronavirus and seasonal flu could overwhelm hospitals and drain resources, threatening lives and the response to the pandemic.

In the Biblical prophecies of Jesus (Matthew 24, Luke 21) the Lord foretold that pestilences would be a sign of the Last Days indicating the nearing of the end of this age.
