The U.S. is deploying thousands of troops to NATO defenses in Eastern Europe in the coming days according to an announcement by the Pentagon.
It’s the first major U.S. troop movement as a response directed toward Russia’s massive military buildup on Ukraine’s borders.
Biden had previously said troop deployments to Eastern Europe would only occur if Russia invaded Ukraine, but appears to have changed his position as the situation continues to escalate.
He still has ruled out sending troops to Ukraine itself, which is not a NATO member, but has approved over $600 million of security assistance to Kyiv over the past year.
2,000 U.S. troops based at Fort Bragg in North Carolina will be deployed to Germany and Poland, Pentagon press secretary John Kirby announced. An additional 1,000 U.S. troops already based in Germany will reposition to Romania.
The troops will be under U.S. command, not NATO command, and could be augmented by additional force deployments in the coming days and months.
The Pentagon has also placed a total of 8,500 U.S. troops on “heightened preparedness to deploy” to Europe as part of NATO’s rapid-response force, which has not yet been activated.
The Biblical prophecies (Matthew 24, Luke 21, Revelation 6) foretell that there will be wars and rumors of wars in the Last Days signaling the world is nearing the end of this age.
These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
