Yellowstone’s Lava River Threatens Disaster

Signs of the Last Days® MinistryNews

Scientists are now convinced that the Yellowstone caldera’s magma reservoir contains a lava river of earth’s melted crust that was far more than scientists were expecting to see.

And they say this lava-river is likely to erupt but they don’t know when since they say it is difficult to identify just how much magma is boiling under the surface.

According to a new scientific study where scientists have been able to improve their model of the Yellowstone  supervolcano, they say the extent of the earth melt was far more than scientists expected.

And this extensive melt has been enough to convince scientists that they are dealing with a conductor – magma in such a volume that it could incite other eruptions to come.

They say the difficult issue with assessing the hazards that come with volcano eruption is that it is difficult to identify just how much magma is boiling underneath the surface.

Saying that questions persist about the volume and distribution of the melt and how it compares with conditions that preceded prior eruptions, according to Yellowstone researchers from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, the University of New Mexico, and others in the study.

Though many studies have produced images of the subsurface below Yellowstone, revealing the magma reservoir in the mid to upper crust of earth, yet they say it is still hard to pinpoint exactly which point of the surface is the most at-risk of eruption.

But scientists say a series of small earthquakes typically precedes a volcanic eruption as a “kind of straw that breaks the camel’s back.” When Mount St. Helens in Washington blew in 1980, the final straw was a small, magnitude-6 earthquake.

And they say the seismic threat can be just as serious as the volcanic threat.

In 1959 there was a 7.3-magnitude earthquake in Madison Canyon, Mont., just 15 km west of Yellowstone, which was felt in Idaho and Wyoming and killed at least 28 people.

The 30-second quake and following shockwaves created hurricane-strength winds that tossed people and vehicles, uprooted trees, and collapsed roads and highways into the river. The Madison River’s flow was completely blocked, creating Quake Lake.

The current researchers say “Yellowstone is an active supervolcano that will cause mass destruction when it next erupts.”

And scientists in recent years have discovered the Yellowstone supervolcano is two-and-a-half times larger than previously thought, and it could erupt with 2,000 times the force of Mount St. Helens — a blast that would devastate North America.

And researchers have said no one really knows when this “living, breathing” supervolcano will erupt from the river of lava just beneath earth’s crust.

The Biblical prophecies (Matthew 24, Luke 21, Revelation 6) foretell that seismic activity from earthquakes and volcanoes in the Last Days will signal we are nearing the end of this age and the coming of Jesus Christ.

These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3:3-5) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).

The prophecy has come true, the perilous times are here. The need is greater than ever before.
