The Muslim countries and groups of the world along with their supporters are declaring with clarity that Trump’s Jerusalem decision brings an end to the historic US role as peace broker in the Middle East.
Not only are they saying it since Trump’s announcement, but also their actions are taking down the U.S. welcome sign and hanging out a big rejection sign.
Since the announcement, Muslims across the Middle East condemned the U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital as an incendiary move in a volatile region and said Washington was abandoning its leading role as a peace mediator.
Muslim protests have broken out across Hebron, Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Jerusalem along with large protests taking place in Muslim majority countries around the world as Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Iran and Indonesia.
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has said US President Trump’s decision has ended Washington’s historic role as the key sponsor for Israel-Palestinian peace talks.
But additionally their supporters, as the European Union and the United Nations have also spoken out rejecting America‘s position and action.
U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said there was no alternative to a two-state solution and Jerusalem was a final-status matter only to be settled through direct talks in peace negotiations.
And European Union foreign ministers strongly rejected calls by Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, for them to follow Donald Trump’s example and recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, saying Jerusalem’s status could be agreed only in a final peace deal between Israelis and Palestinians.
And the Arabs are putting legs under their rejection of the U.S., as Arab leaders are rejecting upcoming meetings with the U.S. when Vice President Mike Pence will travel to the Middle East in coming weeks.
Pence wanted to meet with Palestinian officials while in the region but the Palestinian Authority rejected any meeting with the U.S.
Also, Egypt has refused meetings with Pence when ‘s Egypt’s Coptic Christian Pope and Grand Imam both turned down meeting invitations according to administration officials.
And European Union officials gave the U.S. the cold shoulder when U.S. Secretary of State Tillerson’s reception in Brussels was distinctly chilly in Brussels after the Trump Jerusalem Announcement. The welcome provided him was more like what the EU provides Russia instead of with the broad smiles and open arms of the past.
Muslims across the world view the U.S. recognition of the Holy City as Israel’s capital as the U.S. taking a side. Because of that the U.S. is now viewed by Arab Islamic countries as no longer impartial and cannot be trusted.
They will no longer trust Trump who is a friend of Netanyahu, nor his son-in-law Kushner or Jason Greenblatt who have been Trump’s front men on the Middle East peace process who are also both Jews and friends of Israel.
The signs indicate the U.S. will now increasingly become sidelined with no chance of securing peace between Israelis and Arabs.
Muslims around the world also view the U.S. recognition of the Holy City as Israel’s capital as being done at the expense of Muslims and that it is a call to unite, or to arms and fight.
For Arabs and Palestinians who did not want a return to violence and hoped past negotiations would work, they view the diplomatic efforts to this point as having gotten them no closer to a state of their own.
And for Islamic militants they will now see their opportunity, as many will see no alternative now except to take direct aggressive action. They will say to their Arab brethren that it is time to fight.
But Palestinians and the militants alike can yet be called upon by Islamic moderate nations and groups along with their supporters, to give negotiations one more chance that must not fail, but this time with a different peace broker.
They will turn to a strong ally who is a staunch real supporter of their Palestinian cause to help carry forward with the Middle East peace process for a two-state solution in Jerusalem and the Temple Mount through talks in peace negotiations.
And signs indicate there is none stronger or more committed to that than the European Union who also contains the remains of the Roman Empire and Church, who can now step forward to do it walking through a prophetic door.
These are Signs of the Last Days Prophecies foretold by the prophets as Daniel and also Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God, how that in the Last Days Israel and Islam will become the focus of the world over Jerusalem and the Temple Mount bringing about Last Days prophecy fulfillment at the end of the age.
