Famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson posted a picture of an asteroid approaching Earth saying that it could strike the planet before the election on Nov. 3.

“Asteroid 2018VP1, a refrigerator-sized space-rock, is hurtling towards us at more than 40,000 km/hr,” he wrote in a tweet. “It may buzz-cut Earth on Nov 2, the day before the Presidential Election.”

Despite the warning, NASA says that the asteroid has a less than 1% chance of actually striking the Earth and that it is a refrigerator-sized space-rock that would probably burn up in the atmosphere.

But NASA, whose researchers cataloging “near-Earth objects” say they have discovered more than 19,000 of them since the agency began keeping the record in 1998, has had trouble identifying and forecasting asteroids coming near earth.

An asteroid passed within 1,830 miles of Earth on Aug. 16 of this year, which was the closest known non-impacting asteroid, but it went undetected until it passed the planet. Recently, there have been several instances like this.

And although this approaching asteroid is said to pose virtually no risk to the planet, the warning has struck many as ironic amid a year that has seen a global pandemic and other calamities.

Also when there is a presidential election amid warnings of potential violence and gun sales have also been soaring driven by the pandemic, social unrest, and election fears.

So a warning about an asteroid by an astrophysicist got people’s attention. And in response to a question about do we have a plan if a larger asteroid was on a path to strike Earth, he also said there are none funded.

And the Biblical prophecies (Luke 21, Revelation 6, Revelation 8) foretell that in the Last Days there will be signs in the heavens including asteroids that cause a Biblical cataclysm on earth.

These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
