It’s reported that 5 are dead and 3 children are wounded after a mass shooting spree in northern California across multiple locations in Rancho Tehama that ended at a local elementary school.
Police said at least three children are also among the wounded, including a six-year-old with two gunshot wounds who has been airlifted to a hospital.
Authorities and witnesses told media that the gunman appeared to pick targets randomly, driving around the community. Police said the shooting appears to have begun as a domestic violence incident.
The suspected gunman was fatally shot by police and a rifle and handguns were recovered from the scene.
It remains unclear how many people were injured, due to the number of shooting scenes, but officials said “a number” of students were medically evacuated from the school.
