High-profile conservatives are accusing tech and social media giants as Twitter, Google and YouTube of discrimination in a series of lawsuits against the organizations.
An increasing number of incidents have come to light how that liberal-leaning social media companies have opposed and throttled conservative speech.
Twitter employees had used their access to President Trump’s account to bring down the nation’s commander in chief. Also, a former Twitter software employee said Twitter has ways to ban users of its social-media platform without letting them know.
It’s called “shadow banning,” and its frequently used against conservatives. A shadow ban is that you ban someone but they don’t know they’ve been banned, because they keep posting but no one sees their content. So they just think that no one is engaging with their content, when in reality, no one is seeing it.
Recently, Twitter blocked Representative Marsha Blackburn from advertising her Senate campaign launch video because it featured a pro-life message.
The Google-owned YouTube.com has been putting conservative themed videos under “restricted mode,” limiting access to the videos for many users.
Additionally, the site also flags conservative themed videos as “Not suitable for most advertisers.”
In a speech on Net Neutrality reform, FCC chairman Ajit Pai called out Twitter, YouTube and other Silicon Valley giants for their long track record of censoring conservative viewpoints.
