There’s a disturbing reality that’s clear to the experts, the next pandemic is inevitably coming. Experts say we are “due” for one. When it happens, they tell us, it will probably have a greater impact on humanity than anything else currently happening in the world.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta recently wrote that it is human nature to avoid being consumed by hypotheticals until they are staring us squarely in the face, and such is the case with a highly lethal pandemic. And when it comes, it will affect every human alive today.
And Bill Gates wrote in a recent op-ed , how that a terrorist attack could involve the creation of a particularly contagious and deadly flu strain. He went on to say that whether it occurs by a quirk of nature or at the hand of a terrorist, epidemiologists say a fast-moving airborne pathogen could kill more than 30 million people in less than a year. And they say there is a reasonable probability the world will experience such an outbreak in the next 10 years.
A pandemic is an outbreak of contagious disease that spreads over a very wide geographic area and affects an exceptionally high proportion of populations, in other words, it’s an epidemic of pestilence that spreads into the world.
But in the multi-media prophecy study, Signs of the Last Days Revealed, William Thompson describes from the Scriptures how pestilence is a sign of the Last Days prophecies of Jesus Christ (Matthew 24) manifesting itself and indicating we live in the Last Days of this Age and near the Great Tribulation of earth.
He provides details on the last pandemic from recent history and how it affected the world providing insight of what the world has to expect coming soon in the Last Days. And how that not only have new diseases been revealed but also diseases that were thought to be eradicated or controlled in the world are out to make a comeback with recent outbreaks.
He also details that world conditions today has more exotic diseases suddenly appearing, also the re-emergence of old killer diseases, then there is drug treatment resistance, the ever more crowded planet and cities, and modern world-wide travel in a day. It all begs the question – how long is it before some other black death comes in a global Last Days pandemic.
