In the heart of Siberia’s forest there is a gaping monstrous chasm that the local residents are calling a “gateway to the underworld.”

The ominous crater, which looms a mile long and reaches depths of nearly 400 feet, appeared without warning and according to geological surveys, it’s been growing at an annual rate of more than 60 feet.

Yet, outside of Batagai, a rural town in the Sakha Republic’s Verkhoyansk district, little is known about this natural phenomenon.

And the locals fear it is likely a harbinger of something dreadful to come, with some saying it could be an entrance to hell that is growing.

Scientists are now calling the Batagaika crater a “mega-slump” or an immense void, or “thermokarst,” in the geomorphology of a permafrost landscape.

Saying the sudden rift appeared when the permafrost underneath rapidly thawed creating the largest thaw slump on the planet.

And scientists see the Batagaika mega-slump as an anomaly that is a potentially irreversible sign of worse things to come, because of record-breaking heatwaves in the region.

Siberia is that place which use to always stay cold, but is now having record temperatures of 100 degrees and higher.

As heat continues to increase on the earth to where it’s even hot in Siberia, with the Arctic Circle of the earth having even been on fire burning with unprecedented wildfires.

The permafrost there under the surface of earth that can be hundreds of meters thick has been melting as the heat and fires in the permafrost are opening up large holes and craters into the earth creating this mega-slump at Batagaika.

Even if it is not a literal “gateway to the underworld,” it is a gateway providing a view into the prophetic future of earth as a sign the end of the age is nearing.

As the Biblical Prophecies (Revelation 16) foretell that there will be increasing heat upon the earth from the Sun until temperatures will scorch humanity with fire.

These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
