A visitor to the U.S. this week watching the media, and knowing nothing of the American tradition of a day for giving thanks in prayer to God, could think this country had a holiday called Turkey Day or Black Friday.
Thanksgiving Day has lost its traditional Scriptural meaning in America. The giving thanks to God in prayer has been ruthlessly stripped away and has been replaced by the mainstream media with the name ‘Turkey Day’.
Thanks to God has been thrown out and substituted in its place is a focus on commercialism with Black Friday and shopping for the best deals, or having great food while watching the best match-ups on TV football games.
Prayer or thanksgiving have been rejected by a secular society who now doesn’t allow religious overtones even on a holiday that is specifically religious.
Biblical concepts have been systematically expelled from our societal discourse and consciousness by a liberal leftist mainstream media. Who have a revisionist agenda to erase away the historically traditional Christian beliefs upon which America was built and flourished making them invisible to future generations of Americans.
They desire to rewrite the moral concepts and history of our country’s traditions and are heavy-handed in bullying those who do not go along. If anyone dare mention God, Scripture, or prayer, they are pounced upon and branded a bigot who should be ignored. They ridicule them as only a small fringe of society whose beliefs and traditions are meaningless.
While at the same time this media are the ardent promoters of lifestyles and religion that are opposed to and critical of Biblical Christianity. And anyone who is not supportive of their position is painted by them as ignorant and dangerous to the overall good.
And these attitudes are Signs of the Last Days Prophecies of Jesus Christ and His Apostles found in Matthew 24 and 2 Timothy 3 that foretold how that society would reject Jesus Christ and his teachings in the Last Days becoming unthankful.
An honest analysis finds that this secular revisionism in America when God and prayer got the boot is also when other phenomenon took hold in America. God and His concepts are put out of the discourse of our government and its institutions, and now division and turmoil reign there. A 100 years of precedent were overridden, with prayer to God prohibited in American schools, and now violence has overtaken us.
It’s a historical fact that our American forefathers built this country upon the foundation of concepts from the Bible given by God. And these leaders as Washington, Lincoln, and others, issued proclamations for Americans to pray and give God thanks, and formally instituted this most American of holidays called Thanksgiving Day.
These leaders were close enough to the Scriptures and our founding beliefs to realize that without thankful prayer to God, America would cease to be America.
Thanksgiving Day helps make us more whole and complete as a “nation under God.”
