In history past and recent, there have been events that were signs in the heavens indicating trouble and turmoil for America.

Celestial events for centuries and millennia have been regarded as signs in the heavens that foreshadowed and were integrated with events and conditions for nations and humanity.

When the people of Israel were slaves in Egypt, a prophet named Moses showed up saying God was about to deliver them from Pharaoh’s oppression.

A sign that showed the Exodus was about to begin was that the sun was obscured in an eclipse wrapping Egypt in darkness. Showing the Egyptians that their sun god was not the One True God, and they should listen to Moses.

In 763 B.C. in the Assyrian Empire which occupied what is now Iraq, the sun was eclipsed and early records from the period mention the eclipse in the same passage as an insurrection in the ancient city of Ashur, with the ancient people linking the two in their minds.

In the Holy Scriptures it was a celestial event known as the Star of Bethlehem that was a heavenly sign of the birth of Jesus Christ, the Messiah from God, which also led the Scriptural savvy Magi or wise men to Jesus.

When King Henry I of England, the son of William the Conqueror, died in A.D. 1133, the event coincided with a solar eclipse.

And in the manuscript “Historia Novella,” William of Malmesbury recounts that the “hideous darkness” agitated the hearts of men to where after the death, a struggle for the throne threw the kingdom into chaos and civil war.

And so it has happened in history, where earlier kingdoms and people saw heavenly signs that foreshadowed and were integrated with the events of their civilization.

The Lord Jesus Christ in His prophecies specifically called this out. Where there will be Signs of the Last Days that would be celestial signs that would mark events in humankind that affected them.

The Lord said in Luke 21:25 : “… And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity ….”

Where Jesus linked signs in the heavens happening at the time of events in humanity on the earth that would be so dire they would bring distress and perplexity.

America has had heavenly signs before that marked times of turmoil and trouble for the country.

Where in the year 1776, when America declared its independence and entered into the Revolutionary War, also in 1776 there was a sign in the heavens of a solar eclipse that occurred over America marking when it entered into the revolutionary war fighting for its independence.

And then in 1861, when America was entering into the Civil War, there was a significant sign that shown in the heavens.

Where the Great Comet of 1861 heralded the start of the American Civil War. In fact, the heavenly sign came to be known as  “The War Comet” as it blazed across the sky visible to those in the theater of the Civil War.

Where the comet shined so brightly, it could be seen with the naked eye as it also illuminated the night casting shadows on the ground. As it was mentioned in the journals of the officers and doctors in the Civil War. As brother fought against brother in the fields of America with 600,000 dying in the worst bloodshed of America thus far.

And then in the year 2017, there was another heavenly sign for America. Where a solar eclipse brought darkness across the land. As it marked the year the current President was sworn in starting this presidency.

And since then there has been a marked escalation of deepening division and conflict in America. Where now the American public and experts are saying we are nearing another modern-day civil war of some type that could happen in America within the 2020’s.

As the upcoming 2020 election is expected to be the nastiest in modern history, with polls painting a scenario of an extremely negative campaign that will exacerbate the divisions and incivility in America.

America’s revolutionary war and civil war were both marked by heavenly signs and were a time of turmoil and conflict. And this current U.S. presidency was also marked by a heavenly sign as well.

And the turmoil and conflict has been markedly increasing with a possible partisan impeachment attempt of the President looming on the horizon along with the 2020 presidential election at the same time. Conditions that do not bode well for America.

Jesus said there would be signs in the heavens happening at the time when nations would experience distress and perplexity. And could not these same words be used to describe the time the U.S. has entered now.

These events and conditions happening now are signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).

Preparing those Biblically born again into the Kingdom of God to be ready to escape all the things that will come to pass, in the wrath of the tribulation of Revelation prophecy, that comes upon the world of disobedience. As the born again Church is not appointed unto wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10) but instead to salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.
