The U.S. military struck pro-regime forces in Syria at the Euphrates River Valley killing over 100 of the enemy with airstrikes, artillery, tanks, and rocket fire in response to what the US called an “unprovoked attack.”
US officials estimate that more than 100 of approximately 500 pro-regime troops involved were killed. The remainder retreated across the Euphrates River.
Seemingly the US has drawn a line in the sand — indicating that any attempt by Syrian President al-Assad’s regime to recover territory east of the Euphrates River will be met with powerful retaliation.
The Euphrates River has become the de facto border line between regime-held areas and the Syrian territory held by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) — a mix of Kurdish and Arab militia.
US attacks on pro-regime forces in Syria are rare, and the size of this action was unprecedented.
It’s only a matter of time before the Syrian regime and its allies are focused on recovering land to the east of the 
Euphrates. However, the US seems to have made it clear that it does not intend to leave the area.
The Euphrates River Valley has now become a flash-point for the Syrian civil war. Where it could explode at anytime and morph from a proxy-conflict into a full blown, major nation, direct conflict.
This is prophesied in the Revelation 9 Prophecy where a world war breaks out at the Euphrates River with devastating global results. These are signs indicating how much closer we are to fulfillment of the Last Day prophecies.
