World Reactions Divided Over Israel Peace Deal With United Arab Emirates

Signs of the Last Days® MinistryGeneral

It was announced by the US Administration that Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to full normalization of relations in a phone call with US President Donald Trump.

This marks the first peace treaty between Israel and an Arab country in 25 years. Egypt signed a peace deal with Israel in 1979, and Jordan did so in 1994.

The Israel-UAE agreement reportedly will include establishing embassies and exchanging ambassadors, investments into the Israeli economy, trade, direct flights between Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi, an investment in Israeli efforts to develop a coronavirus vaccine, and cooperation in matters of energy and water.

Also an important element of the deal for the UAE is the expectation that its citizens would be able to visit the Al-Aksa mosque in Jerusalem.

And reportedly Israel also agreed to suspend its planned extension of sovereignty over parts of Judea and Samaria so to facilitate relations with the UAE and potentially other Arab and Muslim countries.

In subsequent remarks in the Oval Office, President Trump alluded to “many more countries” in the region that could also be normalizing ties with Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said he has “reason to be very optimistic that today’s announcement with the UAE will be joined by more countries in this expanding circle of peace.”

Netanyahu also thanked other leaders of the Arab world for supporting the agreement saying, “I thank Egyptian President al-Sisi, and the governments of Oman and Bahrain for their support of the historic peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.”

But the Palestinians described the UAE treaty with Israel as treacherous, with the Palestinians being sold out and stabbed in the back from the deal.

And Iran said “The shameful measure of Abu Dhabi to reach an agreement with the fake Zionist regime (Israel) is a dangerous move and the UAE and other states that backed it will be responsible for its consequences.”

Geo-political analysts also pointed out that this is far away from the comprehensive peace plan to resolve the Palestinian issue that President Trump has long promoted.

In fact it seems to be a backing away from the “Deal of the Century” to focus on picking some easy fruit that could help those on the phone call and in this announcement.

For President Trump, who finds himself in a far more difficult election campaign than he expected, it could be a boost with his followers as he sells it as a Trumpian achievement.

For Netanyahu, who finds himself sharing power in a unity government and in Israeli court for criminal charges, its an opportunity to also shore up his support. Saying that he made the third peace treaty between Israel and an Arab country.

And for both Trump and Netanyahu, its an opportunity to show something in terms of Mid-East achievement for peace, while giving the opportunity to back away from the “Deal of the Century” and its annexation of the West Bank.

Which has created a firestorm of opposition to where both the Roman Vatican and the King of Jordan have warned that if Israel were to move forward with annexation of the West Bank, which is Biblical Judea, that there would be war in the Holy Land.

And for the enigmatic leader of the UAE, Mohammed bin Zayed also known as MBZ, who controls sovereign wealth funds worth $1.3 trillion – more than any other country – as truly the wealthiest man in the world, that is an Arab moderate and ally of the US, it was a multiple-opportunity deal.

For one it provides him the opportunity to burnish his moderate Arab credentials and to add stature as a powerful Arab world leader. As he can say that he actually did something to stop Israel from annexing the West Bank. While at the same time gaining access to Israeli expertise & technology, and currying favor again with the US administration.

So for these three leaders it was an obvious win-win situation, but for real Mid-East peace it has further entrenched the usual lines of the typical opposition as seen in the reactions of those such as the Palestinians, Turkey, and Iran.

And there is also the disconcerting conflicting statements of Trump, Netanyahu, and MBZ, after the announcement.

The US President trumpeted the phone deal as “a truly historic moment” with the full text of the announcement released saying that Israel will halt annexation of Palestinian land in exchange for diplomatic relations with the UAE.

But then Israel’s Netanyahu said afterwards that the annexation of the West Bank was still on the table, and that he did not remove sovereignty from the agenda.

While all that MBZ’s tweet said was “During a call with President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu, an agreement was reached to stop further Israeli annexation of Palestinian territories. The UAE and Israel also agreed to cooperation and setting a roadmap towards establishing a bilateral relationship.”

Which in reading these disparate comments, actually nothing as of yet may have been accomplished other than a phone call to agree on beginning work to formalize the relationship between Israel and the UAE that they already have.

This much is certain, that the Biblical peace deal of Daniel 9 is still waiting to be done. And that deal will not be confirmed by the U.S., but by he who will become Anti-christ. But step-by-step that event is drawing nearer.

These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
