Palestinian President Abbas has now said that he would “no longer accept” any peace plan proposed by the United States, instead calling on Europe to play a stronger role in peace efforts between Israel and the Palestinians.
His comments came after the UN general assembly voted overwhelmingly to denounce Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Abbas told a joint press conference with Europe’s French president, Emmanuel Macron that “The United States has proven to be a dishonest mediator in the peace process and we will no longer accept any plan from it.”
